Galeria Rynek w Olsztynie zaprasza na wernisaż wystawy Filipa Ćwika "inside/outside" który odbędzie się w dniu 19 września 2014 r. o godz. 19.00 - ul. Stare Miasto 24/25, Olsztyn
"Outside – na zewnątrz, to dość ponure i chaotyczne, czarnobiałe pejzaże. Oglądamy okolice gospodarstw i domów, furtki, drzewa w ogrodzie, płoty, o ile się ostały. Krajobraz przejmujący, spustoszony ale i wspaniały, przetworzony." - czytamy w tekście kuratorki Joanny Kinowskiej.
"Inside – wewnątrz, to zaś pełne kolorów widoki pokoi, izb, pomieszczeń. Przetrawione przez wodę, nasycone wilgocią. Zniszczone wspaniale. Niepowtarzalne i niespotykane układy mebli, mówią o nieskutecznych próbach ratowania dobytku. Zwałowiska sprzętu, połamane i zdemolowane przedmioty w malowniczych kompozycjach, w ferii barw. Jak na płótnie.
Seria jest podwójna, wnętrze i zewnętrze, czarnobiel i kolor. Wszystko w serii fotograficznej ma swój porządek i podział. Czysta logika i prostota. W obrazach dzieje się wszystko na odwrót. Ruina, żywioł, splątanie i połamanie. Ćwik porządkuje fotograficznie znalezione przestrzenie. Pozwala nam to podejść, wejść, jest łatwiej i choć trochę prościej.

Ślady zdarzeń gwałtownych, żywiołowych. Po remoncie odchodzą w niepamięć. Niepamięć tylko tych, którzy nie widzieli i nie przeżyli. Właściciele przestrzeni ze zdjęć, zostaną z tymi widokami do końca życia. Żaden remont ich nie usunie. Fotografia, która zapisuje to co jest, wspomaga naturalnie pamięć. Nawet gdy pamięć radzi sobie doskonale, a obrazy z niej zaczerpnięte są nieusuwalne. Wspomaga zatem wyobraźnię widza. Nie są to obrazy z inwentaryzacji: tu było, tu się stało, tu zaszło. Ćwik poza poświadczaniem faktów, znajduje widoki i kompozycje, które perwersyjnie wręcz cieszą oko. Nie przyznamy się głośno, że te obrazy się podobają. Nie powinny, nie wypada. Przecież ukazują ogrom zniszczeń, a tym samym cierpienia. Bezmiar nieszczęścia nie może być wizualnie atrakcyjny. Odrzucając jednak wpojoną nam konieczność współczucia, a przede wszystkim powierzchowną potrzebę zgorszenia się tym widokiem, odkryjemy być może podwójność i sprzeczność. Ambiwalencję. Piękno i zniszczenia. Może te widoki i w nas, widzach, mają zostać na zawsze. Po remoncie, ale i po zmianie wystawy."
Filip Ćwik (ur. 1973 r.) studiował kulturoznawstwo na Uniwersytecie im. Adama Mickiewicza w Poznaniu. Jest współzałożycielem agencji Napo Images i Fundacji Napo. Laureat wielu konkursów fotograficznych, m.in. World Press Photo (2011), Sony World Photography Awards (2011), Grand Press Photo (2013, 2011, 2009, 2005). Publikuje w takich tytułach, jak „Le Monde“, „Das Magazine“ , „International Herald Tribune", "Newsweek", " L’Espresso", " Days Japan", "Guardian", "The Times". W latach 2001-2013 związany z tygodnikiem „Newsweek Polska“. Stypendysta Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego (2012). W swojej pracy stara się znaleźć równowagę między zleceniami komercyjnymi i prasowymi, a własnymi, długoterminowymi projektami wykraczającymi poza definicje dokumentu czy fotoreportażu. W latach 2010-2012 prowadził zajęcia z fotografii prasowej w Instytucie Dziennikarstwa Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego. W 2013 r. wydał swój pierwszy, autorski album fotograficzny „12 twarzy/faces“, dostępny także w wersji kolekcjonerskiej. Prowadzi w Warszawie na Saskiej Kępie autorskie studio portretu.
