Firma Samyang wprowadza do swojej oferty nowy obiektyw filmowy V-DSLR 50 mm T1.5 AS UMC ze światłem f/1.4. Obiektyw wypełni on lukę pomiędzy modelami koreańskiego producenta o ogniskowych 35 mm i 85 mm. Wraz z wersją filmową w ofercie pojawi się także wersja fotograficzna obiektywu. Oficjalna premiera obiektywu odbędzie się na nadchodzących targach fotograficznych Photokina 2014 w Kolonii.
Samyang 50 mm T1.5 AS UMC został zaprojektowany do aparatów i kamer wyposażonych w matrycę światłoczułą formatu 24x36mm lub mniejszego. Oferuje pole widzenia wynoszące 46.2 stopnia, a dzięki dużej jasności wynoszącej T1.5 (f/1.4) ponadprzeciętnie radzi sobie w słabych warunkach oświetleniowych, zapewniając doskonałą plastykę obrazu oraz małą głębie ostrości. Na konstrukcję optyczną obiektywu składa się dziewięć soczewek umieszczonych w sześciu grupach (w tym jedna soczewka asferyczna oraz jedna hybrydowa asferyczna). Dla zapewnienia wysokiego kontrastu oraz wiernego odwzorowania barw soczewki pokryte zostały wielowarstwowymi powłokami antyrefleksyjnymi UMC.
Mocną stroną obiektywu Samyang 50 mm T1.5 VDSLR jest wyjątkowo delikatne i plastyczne odwzorowanie nieostrości znajdujących się poza płaszczyzną ostrości, czyli tzw. bokeh. Dzięki przysłonie zbudowanej z ośmiu listków, obiekty znajdujące się poza głębią ostrości odwzorowane są niezwykle miękko, co docenią zawodowi filmowcy oraz fotografowie specjalizujący się w fotografii portretowej.
